What is Starling Box?

Starling Box is an ethical subscription box stuffed full of 7-8 of our favorite lifestyle items of the season. You can expect full-sized products including jewelry, skincare, accessories, self-care, snacks, and more. But that's not all. Our dream is that every box you open not only has beautiful products you'll love, but also inspires you to join the movement against trafficking, choose ethical brands, and spread the love. We can't wait to share our dream with you!

How does it work?

Ready to subscribe? Welcome to the family! Head on over to the “Join Now” button on the top and enter some information to help us get you started. Upon completing your sign up, you will immediately be billed for your first box. If you subscribe before the first day of the calendar month, we'll ship our boxes to you on the 5th of the month. So look out for a box of 7-8 ethical goodies at your doorstep in 1-3 days (shipping outside of the continental US may take longer)! If you subscribe after the first of the months above, we will send your box on the 5th of the closest month following the date of your subscription. From that point onward, your subscription will automatically renew, and you will be billed on the 15th of that month for the next box. If you subscribe annually, you save $20 and get four quarterly boxes. 

What are your shipping policies?  

Shipping is free to the US! A fee of $15 will apply to shipping to all international destinations.

How do cancellations work?

There is no cancellation fee, and seasonal subscriptions can be cancelled anytime! If you want to cancel before you are auto-renewed (on the 15th of the month in which you receive your box), you can cancel by either a) emailing us at support@starlingbox.freshdesk.com (or through the contact form on our website) with an indication that you want to cancel, and following the instructions we send you, or b) log into your account, click edit, select cancel subscription, and save your changes. If you’ve already been rebilled, email us at support@starlingbox.freshdesk.com or contact us through the form in the website and follow the instructions we send you. You must notify us either by email or through the from in order to be refunded. If you want to cancel, you must do so before the first day of the month three months after you receive your box. For example, if you receive your box on January 6th, you will be rebilled January 15th; after the 15th, you can contact us to get a refund for the next box before April 1st. Unfortunately, we can’t refund subscriptions after this date as our boxes will already be in shipment. Annual subscriptions can be cancelled any time before one year from the time when you subscribed originally.

When can I expect my box?

When you sign up for a new subscription, we'll send out your box on the 5th of the approaching month, quantities allowing. (e.g. if you sign up on the 1st of May, we’ll ship your box on the 5th of May but if you sign up on the 12th, we’ll ship your box on the 5th of June). Annual shipping will always be sent out with the first shipment. From that point, you should receive the box within 1-3 business days in the US. International shipping may take 1-3 weeks. 

When will I be billed?

When you subscribe, you will automatically be billed for your first box. After that point, you will be auto-renewed 54.95 for each box on the 15th of the month in which you receive your box. Sales tax and shipping costs may apply depending on the location of the shipment. Annual boxes will be billed immediately following purchase and will renew on the 15th of the month after you receive your 4th shipment.

Do you accept returns?

All sales are final and non-refundable. However, we will replace some damaged items free of charge- just contact our team with details. In addition, we will exchange sized apparel for a different size, depending on inventory. You are responsible for covering shipping costs and providing a return address, and an additional fee of $5 will be added for processing.

How does overseas shipping work? 

We send our boxes internationally. However, we can’t guarantee that they will reach their destination. Products may arrive late or damaged. We do not believe this will happen, but unfortunately boxes sent internationally are non-refundable or replaceable; we truly apologize in advance for any problems this may cause.

How do I update account information?

You can update your information directly through our website by logging into your account and clicking edit, or if you’re having trouble just shoot us a quick email at support@starlingbox.freshdesk.com for help! 

Am I charged a tax on my shipments?

Sales tax may apply to specific states, regions, or countries based off of the laws of those countries. If we believe that we must legally add tax in your area, a sales tax will be added to your shipment in accordance with the shipping address. 

Can I gift a subscription?

Of course! This is the perfect gift to give to the special people in your life! Just sign up again for a quarterly or annual subscription. Put in the name, address, and email of the person you want to gift the subscription to but put in your own credit card information.

How do you accommodate allergies?

We have a survey when you first sign up that asks for any severe allergies you may have. If one of our products includes one of your allergens, to our knowledge, we will remove the product from your box. However, we cannot guarantee that all products or traces of products containing the allergen has been removed. In addition, we cannot guarantee that all products have been kept away from the allergen in the manufacturing process. We will do our best to replace the product with a similar product but this may not always be possible.
